Privacy Policy

RentCredit is operated by Project5Pi ("RentCredit," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through tryrentcredit.com and our services, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our site or joining our waitlist, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

• Information you provide: your email address, ZIP code, and (optionally) phone number when you join the waitlist or contact us; and, once the product launches, account details needed to provide rent reporting.
• Service information (at product launch): if you choose to use rent reporting, information needed to detect and verify your rent payments, including bank-transaction data accessed through our partner Plaid, and lease or identity details you provide. We do not see or store your bank login credentials; those are handled by Plaid.
• Information you enter in our calculator: figures such as your rent and a credit-score range, plus the loan goals you select. These help us estimate potential savings and tailor our follow-up.
• Automatically collected: standard device, browser, and usage data, and analytics events, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6).

2. How we use your information

• To operate, provide, and improve our site and services;
• To contact you about your waitlist spot, our launch, and your account;
• To send you marketing emails and, only with your separate consent, marketing text messages (see Section 4);
• To report your on-time rent to credit bureaus if you enroll in that service;
• To measure and improve performance through analytics; and
• To comply with law and protect our rights and users.

3. Text messaging (SMS)

If you provide your mobile number and check the consent box, you agree to receive automated marketing and informational text messages from us. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or get help by replying HELP. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in information or phone number with third parties for their own marketing. See our SMS Terms for full details.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

• Service providers who help us run the business, under contract and only as needed - for example Brevo (email and SMS delivery), Plaid (bank connectivity), our identity-verification vendor, Cloudflare (hosting), and Google Analytics (usage measurement).
• At your request: if you ask us to connect you with a lender, mortgage broker, or insurance quote, we share only what is needed to fulfill that request. We will not do this unless you initiate it.
• Legal and safety: to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights and safety.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

5. Credit bureaus

If you enroll in rent reporting, we furnish your on-time rent payment information to consumer reporting agencies (Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax). We do not report late or missed payments.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics 4, to understand site usage and improve our service. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services and for legitimate business or legal purposes, then delete or de-identify it.

8. Your choices and rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may opt out of marketing emails (unsubscribe link) or texts (reply STOP) at any time. Depending on where you live (for example, California residents under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights, including the right to know, delete, correct, and limit certain uses, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. 9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, and we rely on industry-standard partners such as Plaid for sensitive connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

Our site and services are intended for adults 18 and older and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date above.
